Old West, Montana

Montana and Wyoming are both beautiful vast states, with plenty of splendid hills and mountains, reminding me of old Western movies. We rolled into Reed Point, Montana, a quiet little old western town on our way back to the East coast just for the night, and enjoyed a walk back in time.

From Spokane we passed by the beautiful Coeur D’Alene in Northern Idaho, and wished we had more time to explore the area and the old city by the lake. We spent the night at Square Dance RV in Lolo, MT, our second stay at this campsite, then continued our trip eastward on I-90, passing through Butte, MT.

Old West RV, our next overnight stop was small and conveniently located just off the interstate. We truly felt transported back in time while walking the quiet streets of Reed Point, MT, with a population of 96 people. We found the Waterhole Saloon and stepped inside to enjoy a super cheesy and most delicious wood fired pizza and a cold beer.

We only got a small taste of the old West; however, Montana has quite a few old west historic towns that might be worth exploring someday. We continued our quick trip across the country to our next stop in North Dakota, which held another pleasant surprise.
