Hydra, Greece (Part 3)

Our third day on the island was a day of total relaxation. It finally hit us that we were on vacation and we used the hottest part of the day to take a long nap. For lunch, we savored a home-made simple and fresh meal: a cucumber, bib lettuce, tomato salad with yogurt, dill, and lemon from the tree in our yard.

Hydra, Greece (Part 2)

Our second day on Hydra, we enjoyed a stroll on the island, alongside the beautiful blue waters of the Aegean, to Kamini beach. We discovered a wonderful and quiet swim hole, not far from the main port. We eased into the crystal clear and gentle water, taking in the peaceful surroundings interrupted only by the passing boats. Hydra, Greece (Part 1)

Monday mornings are not usually welcomed, unless you’re on vacation. September 18, 2017 was one of those good Mondays. My husband and I hopped on the A1 bus from Voula to Piraeus, then on to the Flying Cat 5 for the hour-long glide on the Aegean toward the island of Hydra, a peaceful place, with gentle blue-green waters and a quiet lifestyle. Sunny Sunday with Friends in Greece

Sunday morning in Voula came with plenty of sunshine and a sweet reunion with my best friend from college: my roommate of three years and sister-at-heart. Once Upon an Olive: Athens, Greece

Six a.m. came early and with it our ride to the airport. We guzzled down just enough coffee to crack open our eyes and finish packing. The ride was smooth and we stopped a couple of times on our way to Otopeni, the main airport in Bucharest, Romania. The Greek welcome came in flight in the shape of a Melekouni sesame cookie, a traditional honey and sesame seed sweet bar, given in Rhodes at weddings or christenings.
