2022 Year in Review: Cheers to the New Year and to New Travels!

This year flew by quickly for me. I guess it’s true when they say time speeds up as you advance in years…. Although we didn’t travel as much as we would have like to, we had some good stops in the U.S., like Golden and Granby Lake in Colorado, Miami, Florida, and Salt Lake City, Utah. We also finally traveled abroad again to Romania and Greece with a short stop in Munich, Germany. Each one of our trips offered a different experience, and we enjoyed them all. Here are some highlights.

Wine in the Desert: El Paso and Sombra Antigua Winery, Texas

Harvest Hosts is a wonderful program which allows RV travelers to stay overnight on a property such as a farm, winery, brewery, or museum parking lot. We were lucky to be guests of Sombra Antigua Winery in Anthony, Texas, 30 minutes outside El Paso.

Eola Hills Winery and Ainsworth State Park, Oregon

Wine, waterfalls, and mouth-watering food were the highlights of our next part of the trip through Oregon, early September. Known for its pinot noir wines, Oregon is home to many wineries and we were happy overnight guests at Eola Hills Legacy Winery, near Salem. Next, we visited Columbia River Gorge and admired the impressive Multnomah Falls. Closer to Portland, we savored local Thai fare.

Oregon – Bend, Portland, Willamette Valley

We arrived in the magnificent Pacific Northwest at last in August! After sweating it out in the high desert of Idaho, the woods of LaPine, Oregon welcomed us with much needed shade and cooler temperatures.
